NEW BEGGININGS
Michael and Alison spent several days in a hotel downtown untill they signed the papers and bought their first home. On arrival the the two of them climbed out the cab and admired their new home. The house itself was only small but it would do for the moment, besides there was enough room to expand later and still have a reasonably large garden. Outside was fairly featurless but the pond out the back would serve well with a patio and some flowers. Inside was cosy and quaint with old-style doors and window frames. It had the basics; a small kitchen/dining area, living room, bathroom and study and upstairs a master and spare bedroom. If they were to have more than one child they would have to add on but that could be arranged when they both got jobs. "So how do you like our new home my sweet?" said Michael. "It's perfect for the two of us" she said, "but when we have children it won't hold us all". "What do you mean by *when*? said Michael suggestively, and they clasped hands and ran upstairs. The next day the two of them searched for jobs in the paper and on the net, but sadly found nothing in their field. "We'll find one soon" Michael promised his wife as she began to worry about finances. "We have more than enough to keep us afloat for a while anyway, and there will be a slot soon I imagine" he said comfortingly. "I hope your right" said Alison. It was a few days later when a place became free at a local firm headed by a Mr. Vanderseux. As they had attended university they could aquire a place high up in the career ladder but the problem was there was only one slot. "You take it" said Alison to Michael, "I'll sort out the house while you are at work until I can find a place". "Are you sure?" asked Michael politely, he knew how much a career meant to her. "Positive" she said, "Something will come up." It was settled. Michael was great at work and over the weeks had earnt himself a golden reputation in the office. He had even been offered a promotion but had turned it down (ignored chance card) so that Alison would not feel left behind. She seemed so different lately and she had been eating alot, the last thing he wanted to do was make the situation worse. One night when he arrived home he was greeted by Alison spilling tears of happiness. "What has happened?" he asked bewildered. "IM PREGNANT!" and she hugged Michael tightly and he did so back. "So that's why you have been eating so much" he laughed and they kissed. "As there's a baby on the way we should start a proper family" he said, "lets get married!" and they hugged again. "I'll go and arrange a date" he said, pecking her cheek.
